I have a good muslim friend who just comitted adultery to my other muslim friend, who is her husband.  She told her husband knowing her mistake.  He doesn't know what to do with her now.  He loves her to death and wants to forgive her.  My question is, even tho it was a huge mistake on her part, do u think God and her husband will be able to forgive her?!  She is confused right now and doesnt't kno what to do.  She promised never to do it again.  Is there a way to solve this without divorce, stoning, or lashes!?

YUSUFALI: The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication,- flog each of them with a hundred stripes: Let not compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day: and let a party of the Believers witness their punishment.
PICKTHAL: The adulterer and the adulteress, scourge ye each one of them (with) a hundred stripes. And let not pity for the twain withhold you from obedience to Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a party of believers witness their punishment.
SHAKIR: (As for) the fornicatress and the fornicator, flog each of them, (giving) a hundred stripes, and let not pity for them detain you in the matter of obedience to Allah, if you believe in Allah and the last day, and let a party of believers witness their chastisement.

YUSUFALI: Let no man guilty of adultery or fornication marry and but a woman similarly guilty, or an Unbeliever: nor let any but such a man or an Unbeliever marry such a woman: to the Believers such a thing is forbidden.
PICKTHAL: The adulterer shall not marry save an adulteress or an idolatress, and the adulteress none shall marry save an adulterer or an idolater. All that is forbidden unto believers.
SHAKIR: The fornicator shall not marry any but a fornicatress or idolatress, and (as for) the fornicatress, none shall marry her but a fornicator or an idolater; and it is forbidden to the believers.

YUSUFALI: And those who launch a charge against chaste women, and produce not four witnesses (to support their allegations),- flog them with eighty stripes; and reject their evidence ever after: for such men are wicked transgressors;-
PICKTHAL: And those who accuse honourable women but bring not four witnesses, scourge them (with) eighty stripes and never (afterward) accept their testimony - They indeed are evil-doers -
SHAKIR: And those who accuse free women then do not bring four witnesses, flog them, (giving) eighty stripes, and do not admit any evidence from them ever; and these it is that are the transgressors,

YUSUFALI: Unless they repent thereafter and mend (their conduct); for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
PICKTHAL: Save those who afterward repent and make amends. (For such) lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
SHAKIR: Except those who repent after this and act aright, for surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

YUSUFALI: And for those who launch a charge against their spouses, and have (in support) no evidence but their own,- their solitary evidence (can be received) if they bear witness four times (with an oath) by Allah that they are solemnly telling the truth;
PICKTHAL: As for those who accuse their wives but have no witnesses except themselves; let the testimony of one of them be four testimonies, (swearing) by Allah that he is of those who speak the truth;
SHAKIR: And (as for) those who accuse their wives and have no witnesses except themselves, the evidence of one of these (should be taken) four times, bearing Allah to witness that he is most surely of the truthful ones.

Why is he so eager to forgive this?  Was he away for a long time?  Is he ill and unable to be a husband to her?  What possible excuse does she have for him that he would want to not only forgive her, but believe that she won't do the same thing again?

I knew a Muslim Arab couple once where this happened.  The woman was stunningly beautiful and sweet.  He gladly took her back She did it again.  But the second time she ran off with the guy.  The poor husband took a long time to recover from this betrayal.  But he is happily remarried now, Al-Hamdulilah.

As Rami mentioned, there is no Islamic authorities to administer punishment prescribed for this major sin.  How very sad this has happened, (we ask Allah to protect us from this) but it should serve as a reminder for us to heed the limits set by Allah, Most High, ie, lowering our gaze, not being alone with a non-muhram, and avoiding unnecessary talk and meetings - fearing Allah.

Do not despair, for Allaah the Most Exalted and Glorified said (interpretation of the meaning): "Say: Oh my servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the mercy of Allaah, for Allaah forgives all sins; for He is oft-forgiving, most merciful." [Surah 39,Verse 53]

Tell your friend that she has to increase in good deeds so that Allah will wipe out her evil deeds, as Abdullah ibn Masud reported. He said that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, �Oh Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), I met a woman in the garden so I pulled her close, fondled her, kissed her, and did everything with except have intercourse. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was then silent and so the verse came down, "verily, the good deeds erase the bad deeds, that is admonition to those who remember." So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called him and recited it to him. So Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, �Oh Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is this for him specifically or for everyone. He said (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) , �no, for everyone.' (It was narrated by Ahmad.)

She told him and myseld that the reason she did this was because she didn't think that he loved her anymore.  He never treated her like a wife, or anything like that.  It wasn't right but I assume she got his attention now.   She swore she would never do this again...I guess u just have to believe her right

There is a Hadeith about comitting adultry. When they asked the Prophet (pbuh) what to do with the 2 people that comitted adultry he said to stone them. They stoned the woman but the man ran and begged for mercy and repented and promised he was sorry and never would do it again. They told the Prophet this and he said do not stone him if he is truely sorry and repented. Of course, the found him and stoned him anyway (others).

So, there is mercy and foriveness if one is truely sorry.
