Dear Arabia,

First of all welcome to Islamicity,

With regarding on your question which, is on the priorities of the muslim's agenda waiting to be solved for the future of Muslim World, thank you so much for addressing an high level issue to the board. With the efforts will come like this the board will be more complex and improved for the sakes of the intellectuals...

Dear Arabia, today's technology is so import for understanding these kind of issues,we can not think on the matter of these issues from the ancient methods, technology improved and things are changed by the way we should answer these questions WITH NEW IMPROVEMENTS....

Dear Arabia,i should inform you about fartometer which helps muslims for their understanding if they did or not;fartometer with it's sharp sensors smelling and hearing the particules which you can not feel on your own...when it feels it makes sound and wave some lights....

Please put that machine near of your prayer rug....

Thank you so much for your question which helped us to know fartometer...

Suleyman, probably you made a mistake by making a statement regarding fartometer.

When a Muslim is performing salaat his concentration should remain only in his salaat and not on wether he has farted, how hard he farted, did it smell, and no such technology should be put to use when one is performing salaat, as in salaat, a Muslim communicates with Allah and leaves the world behind.

I expect Arabia to agree with what I have said.

Allah knows best.

Es_Selam'un Aleykum Brother,

Brother, i totally agree with you that this is why we need fartometer,as you can easily see from the question of brother Arabia;the farting issues are taking so much place in the minds. If we use fartometer then we will never mind on if we did or not then the rest will be up to the machine. When the sounds comes saying repeat repeat then we will understand we should refresh the ablution. Before hearing the sound and waved lights everyone should be totally concentrated on their prays with giving any worth to the assumptions becasue this machine is totally scientific that has three levels. The first level is for the new muslims when the sensor feels it says:" repeat please repeat",the second level is for the persons who are well on fiqh that when the machine feels it says:"***brother Suleyman profanity of any kind, even that which is desguised is not permitted.  Please follow the forum guidelines.*** go and take new ablution"...the last level is for the persons who are Imams, when the machine feels throws stones...

I see that this machine is becoming more popular day by day that i still did not take the copy rights,i should do urgently:)...wa salaam...

Doubts about one's wudu and salah are sometimes caused by a psyhcological disorder called OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). People with too much of these doubts and repetitive wudu or salah acts should go to a psychiatrist. This disorder makes life very hard and unbearable for some people.

Assalamu Alaikum

Sister Arabia, the following is a hadith about the question you have:

Narrated By 'Abbas bin Tamim:  My uncle asked Allah's Apostle about a person who imagined to have passed wind during the prayer.  Allah's Apostle replied, "He should not leave his prayer unless he hears or smells something." (Bukhari 001.004.139; also see, 001.004.177; )

Inshallah this will help you brother.

assalamualaikum muslim friends

please don't take it as a joke. this is a serious matter. please try to understand.

this technology was not there at the time of prophet Muhammad ( may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him ).

Allah has mentioned in several places in the Quran ' O ye who believe! Obey Allah and obey his messenger ( prophet Muhammad ) '.

we should not introduce new technologies in the sunnats of prophet Muhammad ( may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him ).

when a muslim is in wudu and if he has farted he should immediately perform wudu again, irrespective of wether the fart smelled or not.

may Allah guide the believers to the straight path. aameen.

Brother Salman, this is not correct.  If a Muslim is performing salat, they are not required to get up and perform wudu immediately if they pass wind and it is neither heard or smells.  Please see the hadith I posted on page 2 of this thread.  Inshallah it will clear of the issue for you.

khadija, in this hadith, Allah's apostle prophet muhammad ( may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him ) said not to leave the prayer in that situation.

At the same time, Allah's apostle did not mention anything as to somebody's wudu is still valid or not after he has passed air.

So, to be on the safer side, I think it is better to perform wudu again after salaat.
