Assalamo alaikum,

I am new to this site.

Me and my husband have been married for just over a year. This is our second marriage for both of us. We have had many issues since day one because of my husbands lies and infidelity. He was in a serious relationship with another woman and wanted to marry her. His family lied to us and said it is just a rumour (before the wedding). After the wedding, I found out about his habits of using escorts (throughout our marriage). I have had infections because of him. I have gone through hell and back trying to save our marriage. My parents have also tried their best to support me.

Most recently, his brother has moved into our two bedroom flat for work purposes. I feel uncomfortable by this and an invasion of my privacy. He has already caused issues and tension between me and my in laws because of things he tells them, be it if food isn't ready or I have a family function to attend. My mother and father in law are now aware of my husbands misdoings during our marriage, but I got no sympathy.

I feel like I am being taken advantage of. I have sacrificed a great deal for our marriage to work and to try to give my husband respect. However, he always sides with his family whenever I voice my opinion. I can't always be second best.

What should I do to make him realise?

Wa alaikum,
Infidelity, disrespect of your privacy, and emotional abuse. I doubt that he would realize what he has done to you. Talk to him straight and tell him that if he does not change, walk out.
It is better to live in dignity than be abused.

Best Regards,
Aslam Abdullah

Assalam walaikum. Leave this nasty sinner. You don't want Aid's. Don't be scared of another divorce.
