ASA,

I have married a Christian (Ahl Kitab) few years ago in civil / court marriage which is legally registered. But before and after the marriage when I asked imams in this small City in United States to conduct Nikah they suggested and lectured that I should marry a muslim women. Couple of years ago I again tried near by city Imam of another Muslim Masjid but he said he will only perform Nikah if  civil marriage is recent and not more than 5 years old. Really frustrated and wants to make our marriage halal...

I'm looking for imam or just some one who can perform Nikah for us over the phone or skype with two witnesses so marriage is Islamic.
