It depends on the type of depression.
In many cases, it can be a chemical imbalance in the brain/ body... and it needs medicine. Or it can be a temporary depression due to stress/ trauma which needs a few professional sessions for coping mechanisms and cognitive stills. Or it could be due to Hassad and other things, which reading alot of Quran will inshallah help with.

Many scholars these days are recommending people who feel depressed to go first to a professional so they can be told if it needs medicine or just a few sessions...etc.

so yes... it is a good idea to FIRST find out which type it is.

It would help if you did not confuse clinical conditions, which can be signs of different disorders. Lack of adequate sleep or diving into a deep phase can also be a sign of prolonged anxiety syndrome. This is only part of a dangerous illness, and if not treated comprehensively, then the situation can get even worse. As a rule, the most unfavorable outcome is the development of depression. After that, most people have the question of http://https://fherehab.com/depression/treatment" rel="nofollow - how to treat depression ? So now, there are a lot of ways that are based on therapeutic and social help. So if you notice the first signs, it's better to see a specialist.

Assalamualaikum,
Turn to Allah for help alone, no human knows you better than he does, and personally i believe that getting therapy will only further you into depression and yes it will clash with Islam since they have the most hideous ways to treatment. I suggest spend time with good religious brothers at the masjid and you'll slowly see happiness inshallah, also a good brother will listen to your problems and advise you or help you what would a psychiatrist do, he gets paid to tell you useless things.
