As-Salaam alaikum, As we are aware, the line of Allah's Prophets and Envoys is brought to an end by Sayyadina Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, who is both an envoy to a particular people, and like Adam, for all mankind: he sums up all that has gone before, with all the prescriptions detailed in their fullness.
Sheikh Ibn Arabi, may Allah be Merciful to him, compares his coming to the light of the sun appearing among the light of the stars: the sun is so bright that the stars become hidden within its light. Likewise, all that has been previously revealed by the Prophets and Envoys is hidden within the light of the revelation given to Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam.
There is, therefore, no-one outside the Muhammadan Community in Ibn Arabis' view, just as in the words of one hadith: ''Allah has blessed my community by giving them the face of the whole world as a sanctuary.'' This does not mean that everyone is included by becoming a member of the outward religion of Islam-- it indicates that every possible conformity to the Truth is found in its true light within the Muhammadan reality. Revelation cannot be the private possession of one group or community rather than another. The Qur'an is one book among others, except that, to the exclusion of all other books, it alone possesses the all-comprehensive synthesis.
