I'm curious to find out how Muslim I can become, but I want to focus on studying Islam from a Pro-Life (anti-abortion) & Pro-Family (anti-gay) perspective. After several hours of searching, I have found several liberal left-leaning feminist "Muslim" websites which I do not consider Muslim at all, but I have not found any Muslim websites focusing on fighting abortion or homosexuality. Do Muslims stop speaking English as soon as they realize abortion and homosexuality are wrong? Do I have to learn Arabic to find a conservative Muslim website? Do any Muslims here have any suggestions?

This is not an anti-abortion anti-gay site although many people are against such behavior, many of us do not want to condemn others for specific things because Allah, The Most Compassionate is our only Judge.  We are not the judges; He is.

I would not join a pro-life organization because their tactics and mission statements conflict with my personal beliefs.  I believe that abortion is necessary sometimes.  For example, I am very angry with the new South Dakota law which does not allow abortion in the case of rape or incest and provides that the "father" of the baby be involved in its life.

I would never join an anti-gay movement unless the gay community were overwhelming my family, which it is not.  The belief that homosexuality is inborn is wrong and it bothers me that the mainstream media pushes this on us.  I believe it is one of those things that they think that if they repeat it often enough, we will believe it.

I consider person who is openly gay to be similar to a person who is living in sin.  They are both sinning openly, and this is displeasing to our Powerful Lord.  But Allah, The All-Knowing is the Judge of all of our behavior.  Who am I to judge this one behavior and think that Allah, SWT, loves me more than these people?  He has the scales in His hands, and He will weigh these things out.

You are forgettin that gay marraige first became legal in majority christain dominated countries.

honosextuality is a sin, I cant find muslims websites that promote "hate" about gays, you know the ones that call for killing them n all.

It is condemed in Fatwas (religious rulings) to be gay, given by scholars.

If Allah judges, will you not judge by His judgement? Does the bailiff not cast offenders into jail at hearing the judge's word? Allah has judged, who hears his judgement?

Bismillah,

There are people who do not wish to be judged according to religious rules.  In Islam there really, really is not supposed to be compulsion in religion.  It's very clearly stated in the Holy Quran.

There are people who sin and are sorry for it.  We are not supposed to go looking for people to punish as this is Allah, The Most High's province.

When people sin openly and publicly and are Muslims, it is rare because Muslims who are really Muslims are shy of sinning in public.  Blatantly committing public transgressions defying Allah, SWT's basic laws is disrespectful.  To your topic of abortions and homosexuality, many people who have these difficulties would not advertise it if they are Muslim as well.  Therefore, it is solely between them and Allah, SWT.

Some people seek punishment in this life because we are told that when we are punished in this life, our sins are forgiven and there will be no punishment in the next.

I had a friend who went regularly to the mosque. The people before 2000 were promoting voting for Bush based on the more conservative social agenda he proposed. Now I could have told them what the agenda of the "Christian right' was about. They really are no friend of Moslems, whether they have similiar social agendas on certain issues. I think they now saw another side of the 'agenda'. We are seeing the results of this. Whereas most people did not think much of Kerry, I cannot imagine many Moslem voted for Bush again in 2004.. I may be wrong but I would be surprised.

I read once Christian right commentor right that the schools were going to hell because they are 'controlled by Moslems and homosexuals". I kid you not.   This was based upon the tolerance being taught and the fact that a parent asked her to not be served pork.

I think that also an other isuse is that many very conservative Christian groups are not for most of the mainstream methods of birth control. I think it is great to  have certain strong opinions but many people in these movements have little or no compassion for people. They tend to be seen as hateful. Not many Moslems are going to hang around people who will constantly tell them they are going to hell for not believing in Jesus as God or as the savior.

But Allah, The All-Knowing is the Judge of all of our behavior.  Who am I to judge this one behavior and think that Allah, SWT, loves me more than these people?  He has the scales in His hands, and He will weigh these things out.

Well said...

in the face of judgement coming it is best to remain humble.
