Assalamu allaikum I'm a pregnant woman and had to undergo anamoly scan on the 19th week. After a lot of findings we found only one female radiologist in the town so confirmed an appointment with her after 2 weeks of delay. My husband came along with me but on the scan day but unfortunately, the doctor called off last minute so we have been told to undergo the scan with a non Muslim male doctor. My husband requested to be in the scan room multiple times but they denied reasoning covid. When they finally accepted for two female attendant to be with me during the scan me and my husband though confused still agreed. We couldn't confirm with a scholar at that point of time. Even though its not an emergency there is no other female doctor available in 100km radius for the next week. We thought travelling would be risky too. This scan has to be done between 18th to 21st week, I finally had to undergo scan on my stomach, a non muslim male doctor and two female attendance. Right from that time we were confused and worried that we breached our sharia law. So kindly share some light regarding this situation. Thank you

Wa alaikum Slam,
You did not breach any Fiqh or Islamic law. Islam recognizes the professionalism of men and women and accepts the premise that both men and women professional can treat each other, provided no alternative is available. It's good you asked. Treat that experience as an exception and not regular, and Islamic law accepts the rule of exceptions.
