What is the Muslim view of the Bible?  Is it entirely false?  What parts are false?  Are any parts true?

I have trouble understanding which parts can be taken as fact and which are not reliable.

I realize that Christians and Jews are referred to as "people of the book," but the book that Christians hold goes completely against certain aspects of Islam; therefore, I am seeing a contradiction.

If Muslims do view Jesus' words in the Bible as true, then how can they possibly believe he was a prophet?  I am only left to believe that Muslims do not believe that the Bible's writers were truly writing what Jesus said.

Hello Aquinian and welcome.

Any part of the Bible that contradicts the Qur'an is not to be believed and is declared "false" or the words of men and not the words of Jesus.  The Qur'an is the final word of God and corrects the Holy Bible.

The words of Jesus in his Gospel that contradict the words of Jesus in the Qur'an are not the real words of Jesus.

Muslims do not believe that Jesus is the King Messiah.  According to the Muslims Jesus was just another "anointed" one, although a great prophet.

Muslims believe that the "true" message of Jesus was "lost" by the Christians.  Muslims also believe the the true message of the Torah was also "lost."  It is kind of strange that both the Jews and the Christians could be so careless.

Yes, Annie, how could we have all been so sloppy?

The Bible also states:

Another such warning comes in the closing verses of the Bible. Revelation 22:18-19 says, "For I testify unto everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, and from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." These are very stern warnings that should get our undivided attention.

God's Peace.
