No one has yet explained to me why it was that when those mindless
Danish cartoonists messed up, the response was an Iranian assault on
Jewish sensibilities and now that the Pope has "Shared" his assinine
musings it is again called a "Judeo-Christian" Plot?.

He's a Old German AND a Pope. For crying out loud. Is this is turning into
a three way free for all led by my cynics their cynics and your cynics? Or
"trolls" as Whisper calls them?

I wish to announce that there is blood in the water folks. So, for heaven
sake let' s not all start biting each other. A formal and more convincing
apology would be nice from the Pope. I'm still not happy with the
unconvincing apology the Vatican gave regarding their behavior during
WW2.

Bottom line? We are all important and we all need each other and we need
to keep our separate religions intact. If a few of us stray to each others
camp and convert one way or another it's a bit harrowing to our blood
relatives but it's not the end of the world. We need to learn about each
other from our different perspectives. We can learn from contrast and
comparison. There are things that I use to help me in my every day life
that come directly from Islam. I am enlightened by what I learn. I
understand why we hurt each other and miscalculate each others
reactions across the lines of religion. Evil persons exploit these little
buttons of opportunity for their own purposes. Some are just plain nasty
for the sake of pushing back at a god they fear does not love them.

Bottom line...he did it intentionally.

.. in a most cowardly way. He couldn't have chosen a better way to encourage the fascist Christian masses to have a free-for-all against Muslims.

Its not a free for all against muslims, but 'over reaction' has not done much PR for the faith, which by the way is only a belief system.

For a supposedly "religious" and "spiritual" person the pope did not quite follow through with these aspects at all..

Intead of seeking peace that Jesus would have done he sets things aflame.

I just have one thing to say, and its not a defense of the Pope.  But the man is the SPIRITUAL HEAD OF AN ENTIRE CHURCH.  I don't really see him jumping up and declaring the Prophet Muhammed as the Last Prophet and proclaiming Shahada.  Its his job to prove his faith superior.

His predecessor was about peace and bringing communities together.  Pope Benedict XVI was the Grand Inquisitor before he was Pope.

What he said was wrong and insensitive?  But how is it really any different than the claims on millions of websites that Christians are Pagans and guilty of the most grievous sin of Shirk.  Its an opinion.  Smack his fingers and prove him wrong.

Don't burn effigies and kill nuns.  All that did was to prove his words correct.

Oh dear. Is it? I thought it was his job to demonstrate compassion
tolerance and love above all things.

I think he's just a lousy Pope He wouldn't be the first.

The way muslims have reacted tp the speech and even after the apology is terrible.

This is not the way of defending islam.

As angela said, muslims are proving that the pope or the king whoever said those things are right.

The images shown on TV represent muslims are angry, irrational and quick to flare up, very dissapointing

Uncs, you did it again. The funniest thing is there is a lot more, a hell of a lot more interconnected in all these three than the differences.

We can frustrate the Neo-Cons (or, the evil, always find it difficult to measure which one is the heavier!) is to get like it was in the 12th century or through the Toledo effect!

We could just stand together and win.

There is no other way out.

"Behead those who say Islam is violent" Is extremely funny. We should all
get bumper stickers that say 'Kill all extremists' Do I have to explain
EVERYthing? If the picture was a fake then it's just another cheap insult but
if it was real then well... come on. No one has a monopoly on stupidity.

It is very hard to wait someone slip by their own blunder, but it happened every now and then, very rare though. It needs patient to get one.

Fog, I told you about the axe

Whisper, Are you being defensive again buddy? another sign read....

"Behead those who insult islam". What's the difference? Its very possible that an extremist won't have a brain. Like from TV BBC4 last night, the show about the female suicide bombers in isreal. How daft is it to think that when you blow yourself up, you go to paradise with 72 virgins? How do you mis-interprute this from the Qu'ran?

Whisper, Are you being defensive again buddy?

Thank you, my friend, I hadn't been introduced to this latest theory as yet that when we rise above these domains of counting, numbers and dwelling on reasoning alone, we become defensive.

"Behead those who insult islam". What's the difference?

No idea, best pose this question to some Muslim. Has the genius ever noticed me invoking religion or calling in quotes from the Quran in any of my posts?

How daft is it to think that when you blow yourself up, you go to paradise with 72 virgins?

Are you sure you hold some desire to talk about it seriously and purely at a neutral level?

Away from the Islamo-phobia induced Muselim bashing urge?

The day you covince me that a man of your genius has actually failed to see the real causes behind making of suicide bombers, I promise, I will deal with your post in as much earnest.

For now, both of us could rest with the thought that why would the world need any terrorists when we have friends like you and our Pope?

Whisp, I'm not that bad, and I do try to tone it down, and even avoid bashing? I'm generally angry about religions hold of the world, but it doesn't mean I wanna give all you nice forum people a hard time.

I don't know why folks blow themselves up, but do think it relates to two things. 1) hating the enemy due to learned behaviour and cultural differences and 2) how they interprute the qu'ran.

Why is it that only muslims these days seem to blow themselves up?

... while non-Muslims blow up their families?

Correction, the pics COULD be fake, don't know yet so can't really say either way for sure can we?

You really want me to believe that you are actually so limited to list just these two possibilities?

In our multidemensional life, there must be some other dimension also to consider just if we meant to.

All religions, nations, peoples have a tendency to self destruct with some
level of real or imagined dignity when they were convinced that there was no
other hope of effecting a change in their life. No effective path of resistance.
You don't find many suicide bombers over the age of 25. The ages 16-24
seem to strike fear in the hearts of all peoples going about the business of
oppression or selling insurance.

It's a little known detail that the Uni-bomber was in fact after Mutual of
Omaha not the Marshals of Oklahoma
