Hi.
These incidents are going unreported in your neck of the woods and the
situation is worsening for everyone interested here in doing the right
thing. There's a feeling of paranoia among us on the left. This morning I
turned on my computer checked my mail opened up an Email from one of
my sources or what I thought to be one of my sources and was assaulted
with a twenty window thick series pop ups of the most graphic and vile
pornography ranging from the pedophile to rape. I assume this is all
blatantly illegal.

Is this common or have I cause to be concerned?

In any case:

Urgent appeal to make the month-long campaign a worldwide one

Today two Palestinian women, taking part in a non-violent human shield
action in Beit Hanoun were shot dead and numerous others wounded.
They tried - and partly succeeded - to save the fighters who had sought
refuge inside a mosque. The women spontaneously formed a human wall
when it became clear that the IDF intended to destroy the mosque with
the men in it. Since we told you of our preparations for tomorrow Nov. 4
"putting Gaza on the agenda of the Rabin Memorial Rally" things only got
worse. It is extremely important that our campaign will be taken up also
abroad. Hereafter you find some background and the request to help
make December 2 the campaign pique - with suggestions how you can
relate to it from wherever you are.

Peace,

When Muslims do this they are called "human shields". If they were Christians or Hindus it would be billed as "passive resistance".

In Palestine and Israel we make a distinction.

Passive resistance is accepting that you are putting yourself in harms way to
make a point and are in fact obstructing the other guys take on "Justice".
You sort of accept that getting hurt or busted is a real possibility.

Being a human shield is assuming that no one is going to be st**id or cold
enough to shoot through you.

The latter is getting to be less and less effective here.

Salaams Bro,

Thanks for letting us know.

I saw an article which said as an aside that a 70 year old woman was also killed.  Do you know more about it?  It was in Beit Hanoun, I believe.

Oh, about the hijacked email.  That does happen with spammers.  But it could also be overtly attacking you as a protester.  But it could be the same dirty internet tricks that rope many in.

Run your anti-virus software.
