hi  just want to revisit something again.

http://www.islamicity.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=7 - Discussions - Islam for non-Muslims
Non-Muslims can ask questions about Islam, but discussion can not take place here.

I would like to know how can non muslims converse and discuss and LEARN varies topics on islam if they are not allowed to have a discussions?

I myself have learnt much about islam by being in discussions, that has been the main help.

To have discussions - ........ and then have right underneath,  discussion cannot take place - it is a big contradiction. AND there is NOTHING in the guidelines to say that discussions is against the board/section.

I have revisited this because of Peacemarker's warning to ejdavid - yes ejdavid brought a silly notion. But the warning that was given should not have been given however silly it was.

Now with the thread for sarita, now i agree with, but still discussion is taking place and those going else where are i guess just derailing with other topics unrelevent to sarita's area of enquiries.

There have been MANY discussion in that forum anyway you cannot escape it when one asks questions. You cannot ask and then shut up you need to explore and that is done by talking /discussing  It is much important. to mention not to have it take place, is unfair. The note underneath the title should be changed.

As a suggestion, keep the "discussion - islam for non muslims" but change the note underneath and perhaps have a new forum with just questions and answers without discussion, if that will work.

Angel:

A thread in the Islam for non-Muslims section will soon be created that will explain more about this section. This point is still being discussed by Moderators/Administrators. Meanwhile, as the section description goes, this is the place where non-Muslims can ask questions about Islam.

There is no limit on questions one may ask or repeatedly ask to clarify a point about Islamic faith as long as the purpose is to seek knowledge about Islam. This is the place where only those who believe in Islamic faith and have proper knowledge on the subject should take part to answer, and those who can not positively contribute here should not take part.

Regarding ejdavid, let us see what I said in the warning sentence:

"You keep bringing here irrelevant topics in spite of deletions and warnings. Consider this a warning."

It may appear to you that he only brought "silly" stuff, de facto, many of his posts were deleted that were posted in that section violating guidelines; he kept spamming in Saritas thread even after the moderators intervention, kept spamming there even after multiple deletions. Whenever any post is deleted or edited, it constitutes a violation whether or not verbal warning is given. Therefore, you should place your concern on those violations rather than warning given to him.
