Last year I was in SF for business trip then I called this muslim/immigrant hater Jewish lover Michael Savage. After passing through his screening persons, he come off the air, asking me what I've to ask him?. I told him I want to rectify some of your disinformation about Islam? for example why muslims fighting in Chechnya, Palestine, Kashmir, Iraq, Afghanistan etc saying they are defending their homeland.  They never invaded anyone but western powers and its allies are meddling their countries and that is legimate not the label you preach day in day out.

He began  insulting me off Air thinking I will chicken out as many muslims does these days but I told him you are terrorist using public air wave to disinform and incite hate among multicultural socieity. He said I will inform you FBI and they will track you through GPS. I laught at him and told him when you lost fair depate you resort now physical terror. He said America will not rest until we wipe out Islamist.

My suggestion is this terror creature/subject need to be stopped before he cause more damage. CIAR or other organization should have task force to lidigate this creature. He is nothing but Islam hater jewish lover. His father was from Russia and illegal and today he fed neocons all kinds of hate about poor immigrants.

Stand up your rights through legal means much better than silence with anger. Call his talkshow and tell him he has no right to abuse freedom of speech for his own end. Its time to have a say in public air waves fair depate rather than hiding behind doing nothing or waiting CIAR to play our personal role.

I have listened to Michael Savage on late night talk radio.  He is a very dangerous man.....a bigot.  I agree with you 100%, and I am a Roman Catholic.  I think anyone with this much hatred also hates himself!  He needs to be taken off the air and ignored until, or unless, he begins to see that we are ALL God's children and are loved equally and greatly by God/Allah.  He is filled with hate which will eventually be his downfall.

Additionally, I have heard many kind Americans try to converse with him and tell him how bigoted he is being toward Muslims.  Mr. Savage then turns on the non-Muslim Americans with the rage of a rabid dog. He refuses to allow them to speak anything further and accuses them of being liberal, terrorist-loving traitors!  It would be nearly impossible for me to ever get to have my say on his program.  Again, people should also write to the show's sponsors, and let them know they will not puchase their items if this show is allowed to continue.  This technique works wonders in many instances.  Just a thought.

I think you are not studying enough about other countries.  Of course not all terrorists are Muslim.  In some South American countries there are many terrorists who support their "warlords".  They have gone into villages kidnapping the men, killing them as well as women and children.  These terrorists are Roman Catholic......just like me.  Obviously, they are  not practicing their religion, but nonetheless, this points out the fact that there are others who are just as ruthless, practice their own brand of terrorism, and have little regard for human life.  Read the newspapers and look at the rest of the world.  What happened in China when the students rebelled against the Chinese government in the Square???  They were mowed down like ants by tanks, thanks to their government.

You cannot go through life hating any specific race/religion of people because they are different from you....because they have different beliefs from you.  The most important thing I have to say on this topic is THERE IS GOOD AND BAD IN ALL OF US!!!  When will we ever learn this and accept it?  So to answer your original statement again, NO, not all terrorists are Muslims.  Many terrorists are from many other races/religions/cultures.  Terrorism is no respector of a person's faith, race, culture, or ethnicity....it is either in the person's heart, no matter who they are or where they are from, or it is miles away.

Additionally, Mohammed does not cause people to become a terrorist, anymore than Jesus causes people to become terrorists....but The Evil One most certainly does, and he is alive and well here on planet earth.

indeed he is right. The end of the day its religious war and class of two civilization. Actually, I do have some understanding of the IRA and KKK, the others I cannot speak to.  However, these two organizations had a purpose other than killing anyone who desires to be free.

My great grandparents were first generation Irish. Perhaps you should look into the long and sordid history of oppression by the British in Ireland before you classify them as terrorist.  Likewise, the KKK was borne of necessity after the surrender at Appomattox.   In its genesis the KKK was the only recourse for southerners against carpetbagger Yankees and roaming bands of recently freed and wandering former slaves.  But since the Yankees wrote the superficial history books, most people think the war was about slavery.  In a way I guess it was since the South wanted to be free of the oppressive Yankees. 

Does it bother you that people, who desire only to be left alone, would defend themselves?  That we chose the battlefield is only good military strategy.  And, as you may have heard, a good offence is the best defense.

The Narodnik killed the very man who was on his way to give Russia a Parliment and a Constitution.  The man who wanted to give Russia freedom.  Sad isn't it.

As for the Mujahadeen (or however you spell it) in Afghanistan, the ones that spawned the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

They were there to fight against... the Soviets.  An athiestic and totalitarian government that was oppressing them.  Like the IRA, they wished to gain their freedom from an oppressive invader.  The CIA supported them with guns, monies and training in our fight against Communism.  The religiousity was a recruitment tactic.  Fight Communism, its Islamic.  Fight the Oppressors who bring a threat to your way of life.  Thus, when the Soviets were kicked out, it was these "religious" fighters who were in charge.  What did they have to contend with?

Soviet reforms to their society.  Soviet destruction of their way of life.  So, like many human failings, they fell to far to the other side.  Instead of returning to the progressive nation they were before the Soviets invaded, then pushed back to the dark ages.  Anything that might be Soviet in nature was kicked out.  Back to basics....sorta.  Men became drunk with their power and like always men became just as bad as the last guy.

Now, the US had a problem...  they have extremists in power.  Then Gulf War I.   The US aids an ally and puts soldiers in Saudi Arabia... too close to Mecca.  The US backs Israel, which is oppressing the Palestinians (don't believe me, ask Daniel... he's a member here, Israeli and a member of the Military, its no myth, these people are being oppressed).

The US has meddled in foreign politics for 90 years.  Those men attacked us to provoke a war that would lead to an end of our meddling in the Middle East.  They weren't Islamic Terrorists.  There is no such thing.  Their attacks were politically and culturally motivated.  Because of western Policies. 

What does the Middle East want?  Autonomy.  Freedom to live as they want... not to worry about Israeli or American Bombs and economic warfare.

Many of the people in these countries live in abject poverty while their leaders live in palaces.  Who pays for the palaces?  Your SUV, ATV, Camper, Sports Car and Boat.  Who keeps these governments in power?  Our military, our money and our influence.

When they turn on their TVs they don't see freedom, how can they?  When they see TV shows like Desperate Housewives and the Sopranos?

They don't want to destroy freedom, they want us the hell away from them.  They blame the West (partially they are right) for their conditions.

If we are so enlightened as a society, how can we ignore the Genocides and wars in Africa.  Or standby and allow our allies the Israelis to force 700,000 indigenous people from their homes for something that a German government did?  Or deny those people, running water, electricity or protections as citizens?  The man who can say, my grandfather's grandfather's grandfather grew olives here and raised goats, cannot be a citizen because he was not born Jewish.  Yet, a woman from Yonkers who's family has been in New York for 200 years can claim citizenship in his old neighborhood.

If the US would change our policies in the Middle East, I'm sure you would see a slow but eventual change in things.  Right now, everytime we react in the opposite way, it just justifies those men more.

Hamas and the IRA are the same.  Al Qaeda and the KKK are the same.  The Mujahadeen (afghani/antisoviet fighters) and the Narodnik are no different.

Born 60 years ago in the Bronx, Weiner has lived in Northern California for most of his adult life, making a living as an herbalist and nutritionist. He communed with Fijian traditional healers, got married in a rain forest and studied ethno-medicine at the University of California at Berkeley. He swam naked with Allen Ginsberg, dreamed of being the next Lenny Bruce and wrote a rambling novel about a half-mad alter ego. His son's middle name is Goldencloud. For years, he made a name cranking out a pile of books on alternative medicine, recommending bizarre remedies such as using vitamin C to stop AIDS and kicking cocaine with coffee enemas.

These days, Weiner's more interested in purging the body politic. Using the pseudonym Michael Savage, he's launched a one-man mission to save America from its enemies at home and abroad, which on any given day includes liberals, gays, academics, the homeless, the Clintons, immigrants, feminists, CNN, the American Civil Liberties Union, Muslims and other minorities. Broadcasting three hours a day, five afternoons a week, from a rented studio in downtown San Francisco, he gives voice to the right wing's darkest fantasies. He muses about launching preemptive nuclear strikes on the Middle East ("I wish to God the hatches were open and the missiles were flying!"), suggests gunning down illegal immigrants ("If we had a government, we'd blow them out of the desert with airplanes!"), dreams of dispatching with "commies, pinkos and perverts" and other undesirables ("I say round them up and hang 'em high!") and even paraphrases a remark attributed to Nazi leader Hermann Goering ("When I hear someone's in the civil rights business, I oil up my AR-15!")

Woe be unto those who label him racist, sexist or homophobic -- or even worse, threaten his livelihood. When an Oregon group started a boycott of his advertisers last summer, he became downright apoplectic. "I'm more powerful than you are, you little hateful nothings!" he screeched, before intoning darkly in his trademark New-Yawk accent: "I'm gonna warn you again: If you harm me -- and I pray that no harm comes to you -- but I can't guarantee that it won't." Just last week, Savage fumed about the "brownshirt groups" who dare to criticize him: "You stinking rats who hide in the sewers! ... You think I'm going to roll over like a pussy? You're wrong!"

Such vitriolic ranting is over the top, even by the ever-declining standards of talk-radio decorum. Yet, in this time of war fever and hyperpatriotism, inflammatory rhetoric draws conservative ditto-heads and liberal rubberneckers alike, and that translates into big ratings. Since launching "The Savage Nation" on San Francisco's KSFO 560 AM more than eight years ago, Savage has gone from being just another right-winger with a big mouth, a hyperinflated ego and a sizable chip on his shoulder to becoming the nation's fifth most-popular talk-radio personality, a host with enough leverage to land Vice President Dick Cheney as a guest. His book, "The Savage Nation: Saving America From the Liberal Assault on Our Borders, Language and Culture," has been perched at the top of the New York Times bestseller list for over a month, and now he's slated to get his own program on MSNBC.

Michael Weiner's long and circuitous road has taken him from being a scientist and entrepreneur, through stints as a hipster, novelist and aspiring comedian, to becoming the personification of straight white male rage. Today he likes to play up his unconventional career path, to an extent. He's the kind of guy who never lets anyone forget he has a Ph.D. His Web site reminds visitors that he is a "World Famous Herbal Expert" and the author of 18 books. But just as his gap-toothed grin has been replaced by a row of airbrushed pearly whites on the front cover of his new book, he gives his audience a whitewashed version of his past. The real story is far more interesting, not just for its ironies and contradictions, but for the often disturbing clues it provides about the man now so well known as Michael Savage. He's gone through at least one political makeover. He's turned on old friends, or they've turned on him. If his semi-autobiographical novel is any guide to his own life, he's keeping a few skeletons in his closet.

In the end, the picture that emerges from his books, from interviews with past and current associates, and from his radio show is that "The Savage Nation" is just the latest undertaking of a man who's spent his life trying to get the world to notice him.

Savage's office said he was too busy preparing for his TV show to be interviewed for this article. Earlier interview requests by phone and e-mail prompted an irritated phone call from a woman named Janet, who announced that Savage would not speak with me. Asked if she was his wife -- who happens to be named Janet -- she said she was not. "I am not affiliated with him," she insisted. "I'm just a fan." After a few minutes of testy back and forth, she suggested that it would be unfortunate if my e-mail address and phone number were somehow posted across the Internet.

Savage has come a long way since he emceed school assemblies at P.S. 42 in the Bronx. His father, a Russian Jewish immigrant, made a living selling antique bronzes on Orchard Street. An imposing figure who died of a heart attack in the early 1970s, he is the frequent subject of his son's on-air stories. Speaking at a convention sponsored by the trade magazine Radio & Records in March 2001, Savage recalled getting his first lesson in politics -- and cynicism -- from his dad. "[H]e explained politics to me very clearly. He said, 'You see, this is how the world works ... In this beautiful country of ours there are two bands of thieves: the Republicans and the Democrats.'"

Though Savage waxes nostalgic about such father-and-son moments, it appears that his parents were no Ozzie and Harriet. "I was raised on neglect, anger, and hate," he writes in "The Savage Nation." But growing up with little parental approval or praise was a good thing, he says. "Frankly, that's why I'm driven the way I am."

Savage, who now decries "propaganda about America being the Land of Immigrants," isn't ashamed of his own immigrant parents. However, his Jewish upbringing is strictly taboo. And he often makes Joseph Lieberman, Barbra Streisand and Larry King the butt of stale ethnic jokes. Brad Kava, radio columnist for the San Jose Mercury News and a longtime Savage critic, thinks Savage's ambivalence toward Jews is a misguided attempt to pander to conservative Christians. "He's Jewish, but he always acts like he's Christian," he says. In his book "The Savage Nation," for example, he complains of an anti-Christian bias in America. When Kava, who is Jewish, "outed" Savage several years ago, Savage reported him to the Anti-Defamation League. Dr. Robert F. Cathcart, a longtime friend of the talk-show star, speculated in a telephone interview that Savage says little about his background so that he appears more "neutral" when he discusses Israel or religious topics.

I too was impressed with Angela�s statement, well done.  And, for the record yes I was stirred by the heroics of the mu�ja�hid�een of the 80�s.

Congratulations Revolutionary, you have rightly observed the conversation has moved from who to what.  But it was not my intention to defend Savage, only his message.

So then, regarding Savage; the report you posted was long and informative though its intention was obvious, to destroy the messenger. Wouldn�t it be nice to have such reports on all media figures in a single web site for easy reference! 

But let�s stay with his message for a while longer.  Is Savage wrong for preaching a secure boarder?  Is this not the policy of most countries?

 Since English is the language of commerce and science throughout the world, why shouldn�t it be preached that people who wish to live here speak this language?  When I travel to Mexico, Spain, France or Thailand, I have found it useful to communicate in their language.

 Finely, should he not preach prejudice or discrimination against the homosexual agenda?  Trying to convince our children that sexual perversion and promiscuity is not a sin but something first acceptable then desirable is not only immoral but also insane and dangerous.  When it comes to this issue I will agree with Muslims that it is not to be tolerated.

It is easy to destroy the messenger when the message is what it is in this case.  Although the points you (Thomas) stated have some validity to them, doesn't mean the rest of the message can also qualify as such. 

Also, if by trying to find acts perpetrated by "Muslims" (one cannot be such and act the way those in the articles you listed act) is defending Savage's message, then I suggest you analyze situations and information more thoroughly.  It is easy to fall for traps set for us, a large majority of people do. 

It is admirable that you have requested a copy of the Quran.  Please read it and study the message it conveys.  Also do yourself a favor and study the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) which will give you an idea of true Muslim behavior and stop listening to what the media bombards you with.

We need to spend money on schools, not bombs.  For the cost of one MOAB we could build 50 schools or feed 100s of people for years.  Think of the reaction of those who had a clean well dug, a school built and modern farm equipment brought to them?

I want to someday take my Computer Science Degree and International Studies training and go to rural areas and countries and help set up internet capable classrooms in schools.  This would do more than sanctions and military action.

Yes, and just because its hard to change does mean its impossible.  If nothing else, we will loose the economic war with China because we keep screwing up.

Umm, okay, that's the biggest crock I've heard.  Revenge for Daddy Bush, yes.  Mid East Oil, yes.  To establish a powerbase in the Region, yes.  Loans, NO.

We owed Iraq nothing.  Iraq was the one in heavy debt from Saddam and the UN sanctions.  There were no loans that he could have called in on the US.  And frankly the US is one of the World's Largest Lenders.  That's part of the problem.  We use our loans to other countries to take control of their economics.  Yes the US has runaway debt.  But a large part of it is domestic debt.  Its money owed to the American people, not foreign nations.

If anything we are OWED money by more nations than we owe.  Its totally messed up.  I won't defend it, its indefensible.

Debt relief for Africa would go along way.  Balanced Budgets would to much for us.  But, sadly, the greedy and powerful are in charge.

The US needs to change those policies that drive our economy. We need to focus on energy alternatives to Middle East Oil.  Let them sell the stuff to China while we use Biodiesels and Hydrogen Cars.  We need to stop spending on projects that don't really help the American people.  We need to look to our own poor and uninsured instead of paying 500 billion dollars to invade other countries.

We need to stop financial assistance to foreign governments.  If we can't pay our own debts, we have no business lending money to other nations. 

Policies need changed, they weren't always the way they are now and the nation was better off finanically.  We need to go back to the policies prior to World War I and focus more on a domestic economy.

We build everything we need in this country.  Instead of outsourcing our jobs, we need to build domestic factories.  Instead of buying that Toshiba laptop, we should be buying Dell or Gateway. 

There is very little we don't make....its just the Chinese can make it cheaper.  But, trust me...  the US is not going to be a worry in 20 years.  Our own policies will have us dried up by then.

 I agree with almost all of your suggestion, especially the part about providing insurance.  I am guessing you were talking about Health Ins, but hay... why stop there.  If we could get the wealthy to give up more money then why not include Auto, Home, and Disability insurance.  And while we are at it why not ask the tobacco companies to pay just the difference in the cost of Life insurance a smoker pays vs. what a non-smoker pays.

The United States of America has fallen from the ideals of the Founding Fathers.  What they worked to rid of us of has returned.  The young of our nation need to wake up and start taking charge.  Its said the only way science progresses is that the old guard die and new ideas are then looked at by the young.
