THE TRIBE OF ISRAEL WILL BECOME VERY HAUGHTY
We decreed in the Book for the tribe of Israel: "You will twice cause corruption on Earth and you will reach [a degree of] great haughtiness. When the promised first time came, We sent against you servants of Ours possessing great force, and they ransacked your houses, rampaging right through them. It was a promise that was fulfilled. Then once again We gave you the upper hand over them, supplied you with more wealth and children, and made you the most numerous group." (Qur'an, 17:4-6)
As these verses reveal, the Children of Israel were to cause two corruptions over the world. After the first one, during which they adopted a very high level of haughtiness, Allah sent a powerful army against them. Indeed, when the Jews killed Prophet Yahya (as) and set a trap to kill Prophet 'Isa (as) ("reaching to a degree of great haughtiness"), they were exiled shortly afterwards from Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 and wandered all over the world.
When that verse was revealed to the Prophet (saas), the Jews were living under very difficult conditions in various countries and had no state of their own. Yet, Allah told the Children of Israel that one day they would recover their strength. At that time, however, there seemed to be almost no chance that this would really happen.
Many centuries later, however, the Jews returned to Palestine and established the State of Israel in 1948. Today, Israel possesses military and political power and keeps the Middle East in great turmoil because of its Zionist ideology and harsh treatment of Palestinian Muslims and Christians.
This is a sign of the Children of Israel's second "corruption." However, this wicked behaviour clearly does not apply to the entire Jewish people, among whom there are many individuals of good conscience and common sense who do not agree with Israel's Zionist and anti-Arab policies.
In this and other verses, we notice that almost no one could believe that such things would ever come about. But Allah willed their fulfilment, and thereby provided believers with more proof that the Qur'an is a miraculous book revealed by Him for their benefit.
Surely it could have been no ones words other than the Creator Himself

Khairullah,
I acknowledge that Israeli Jews have committed many atrocities and injustices against Arabs, but so have Arabs against Jews.
The displacement of Arabs after the 1948 war was a great injustice, so was the displacement of Jews from Arab countries. Palestinian suicide bombings in Tel Aviv are no less sick or evil than Israeli military attacks on Gaza and the West Bank.
Arabs in Sudan murder Sudanese Africans (Muslim and Christian), and Christians living in many Arab countries with a Muslim majority face discrimination and persecution in these countries. And I'm talking in both cases about state sanctioned activities not extremist fringes like Al Qaeda.
The crisis in the Middle East is caused not only by Israelis and Americans, but also by Arabs. I won't refer to them as Jews, Christians or Muslims because the murderers do not follow either Judaism, Christianity or Islam.

well said Tom, although what are you reffering to by "so was the displacement of Jews from Arab countries.".

There was government discrimination and/or mob violence which caused thousands to flee countries such as Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Syria, Algeria, Lebanon, and Bahrain. In some cases they were forced to leave by the government or subjected to inequalities and restrictions which made lives so unbearable that many emigrated. In other cases they were killed by angry mobs and not protected by the governments.
Jews in Arab lands were reduced from more than 800,000 in 1948 to perhaps 16,000 in 1991.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_exodus_from_Arab_lands
Many of these people were singled out for harassment and persecution because of Israel's military policies and lots of the mistreatment and emigration took place in the 1940s, 1960s and 1970s. Like many innocent Muslims in North America and innocent Christians in the Middle East and countries like Indonesia, innocent Jews in Arab countries were punished and made to suffer for the actions of people claiming their faith while committing crimes and injustices. This was an injustice too.
Like Palestinians should be allowed to return to their homes, so should they.

True Christians did not massacre Palestinian refugees in Lebanon ('Muslim' militants in Lebanin during that time massacred Christians too, so these actions were not 'unprovoked' though they were unjustified. Read Robert Fisks book on the war in Lebanon) just as true Muslims did not murder and starve hundreds of thousands of Sudanese Christians in the South. They were people claiming to follow Christianity and Islam. Israel's imperialism was no excuse to force hundreds of thousands of Jews to leave Arab countries, most of these people were innocent and had nothing to do with Israels policies. Just as most American Muslims have nothing to do with Al Qaeda.
You are right, no one is completely innocent. Neither Kurds or Israelis or Palestinians or Arabs. Neither are all Christians, Muslims or Jews.
