The Prophet's Prayer at the Battle of Uhud

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) prayed to Allah on the day of the Battle of Uhud, asking that if Muslims were to be defeated, there would be no one left on earth to worship Him.

It is narrated on the authority of Anas that the Messenger of Allah said on the day of the Battle of Uhud: O Allah, if Thou wilt (defeat Muslims), there will be none on the earth to worship Thee.
وَحَدَّثَنِي حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَانَ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ إِنْ تَشَأْ لاَ تُعْبَدْ فِي الأَرْضِ

EXPLANATIONS:
On the day of the battle of Uhud, a major battle between Muslims and their enemies in which many Muslims were martyred, Prophet Muhammad PBUH prayed to Allah for protection. He asked that if Muslims were to be defeated in this battle, there would be no one left on earth who could worship Allah. This hadith teaches us about how devoted and dedicated our beloved prophet was towards his faith and how he put his trust in Allah even during difficult times. It also shows us how important it is for us as believers to always remember God and turn towards Him during times of hardship or difficulty.
