Departing To The Left

SUMMARY: The hadith is about not allowing the Shaitan to give wrong ideas and that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) usually departed to the left.

It was narrated that Al-Aswad said: "Abdullah said: 'No one among you should allow the Shaitan to give him wrong ideas by making him believe that he can only leave after praying by moving to his right, because I saw the Messenger of Allah usually departing to the left'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about not allowing Satan to give us wrong ideas. It was narrated by Al-Aswad and Abdullah that they saw Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) usually departing to the left. This means that we should not allow Satan to make us believe in something which is incorrect or false. We should always be aware of our actions and decisions so as not to be misguided by Satan's tricks. We should also remember that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to depart from his place of prayer towards his left side, so we can take this as an example for ourselves when leaving a place of worship or any other gathering.

The values taught in this hadith are being mindful of our actions, being aware of what we believe in, following the example set by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and avoiding being misled by Satan's tricks. These values are important for all Muslims as they help us stay on track with our faith and ensure that we do not fall into any traps set up by Satan or anyone else who wishes us harm.
