QUICK LESSONS:
Fast regularly according to your own capacity

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Umm Salamah tells us that the Prophet Muhammad used to fast three days of every month. These days were the Monday and Thursday of the first week, as well as the Monday of the following week. This was a routine that he followed regularly in order to gain closeness to Allah and increase his spiritual strength. It is a reminder for us that we should also strive to make fasting part of our regular routine in order to reap its many benefits. We should also remember that fasting is not only about abstaining from food and drink but it is also about abstaining from bad deeds, thoughts, words and behaviours so we can become better Muslims who are closer to Allah.
