The Prophet's Fasting Schedule

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad used to fast on Thursdays and Mondays of each month, as well as the Monday of the following week.

It was narrated that Hafsah said: "The Messenger of Allah used to fast Thursday and Monday of each month, and Monday of the following week".
أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا النَّضْرُ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّجُودِ، عَنْ سَوَاءٍ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَصُومُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ يَوْمَ الْخَمِيسِ وَيَوْمَ الاِثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ الْجُمُعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ يَوْمَ الاِثْنَيْنِ
