The Prophet's Enjoyment of Three Practices

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad enjoyed three things that Abu Hurairah did, which were sleeping after praying Witr, performing ghusl on Fridays and fasting three days of each month.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah enjoyed three things upon me: To sleep after praying Witr, to perform ghusl on Friday, and to fast three days of each month". (Sahih).
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي قَالَ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ هِلاَلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ بِثَلاَثٍ بِنَوْمٍ عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَالْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَصَوْمِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of prayer, wudu', fasting and ghusl in Islam. Prayer is an important part of a Muslim's life as it is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is recommended to perform wudu' before prayer as it helps to purify oneself spiritually and physically. Fasting during Ramadan is also an important pillar in Islam, but this hadith speaks to the importance of fasting outside Ramadan as well. Lastly, ghusl on Fridays is a practice that was encouraged by the Prophet Muhammad and should be done regularly by Muslims for spiritual cleansing purposes. All these practices are important for Muslims to follow in order to stay connected with Allah and live a pious life according to Islamic teachings.
