The Reward of Fasting Three Days a Month

SUMMARY: Fasting three days of each month is equivalent to fasting the entire month.

Abu 'Uthman reported from a man, that Abu Dharrr said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: "Whoever fasts three days of each month has fasted the month in full' or 'will have (the reward of) fasting the month"'. 'Asim was in doubt.

QUICK LESSONS:
Fast three days every month with sincerity and faith in Allah's mercy & grace .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the reward for fasting three days of each month. It was narrated by Abu 'Uthman from a man who heard it from Abu Dharr. The Prophet Muhammad said that whoever fasts three days of each month has fasted the whole month and will receive the reward for doing so. Asim was in doubt about this statement but it is accepted as true by many scholars and followers of Islam. This hadith teaches us that even small acts can have great rewards if done with sincerity and faith in Allah's mercy and grace. It also encourages us to be consistent in our worship, even if we are only able to do small deeds on a regular basis rather than large ones occasionally.
