Fasting on the Thirteenth, Fourteenth and Fifteenth

SUMMARY: The Prophet commanded a man to fast on the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.

It was narrated from Abu Dharr: That the Prophet commanded a man to fast on the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا رَجُلاَنِ، مُحَمَّدٌ وَحَكِيمٌ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْحَوْتَكِيَّةِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ أَمَرَ رَجُلاً بِصِيَامِ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ وَأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ وَخَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ commanded a man to fast on the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth of every month. This is known as fasting three days of every month or ‘Chastity Fasting’. It is believed that this type of fasting brings one closer to Allah SWT by purifying their soul from any sins they may have committed in the past. It also helps one become more mindful of their actions and words throughout the day as they strive for righteousness in all aspects of life.
