The Consequences of Not Paying Zakah

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the importance of paying Zakah on one's wealth, and the consequences of not doing so.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah said: The one who does not pay Zakah on his wealth, his wealth will appear to him on the Day of Resurrection like a bald-headed Shuja 'a 2 with two dots above its eyes. It will hold onto him or encircle him and will say: I am your hoarded treasure, I am your hoarded treasure"'.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of paying zakat, which is a form of charity in Islam. It tells us that if we do not pay our zakat, then on the Day of Judgment our wealth will appear to us in a frightening form. It will be like a bald-headed creature with two dots above its eyes that will encircle us and remind us that it was our hoarded treasure. This hadith serves as a warning for those who do not pay their zakat and encourages them to give charity out of their wealth as an act pleasing to Allah. It also teaches us about accountability and how we must take responsibility for our actions in this life, as they will have consequences in the hereafter.
