Pay taxes on your income; Use resources responsibly and efficiently; Be fair when it comes to taxation; Do not take more than what is due from people who work hard to earn their living through agriculture or other means.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught about the rules of taxation for crops that are irrigated by different means. He said that if a crop is irrigated by rainwater, rivers or springs then one-tenth should be taken as tax. If it is irrigated with animals or artificial means then half of one-tenth should be taken as tax. This hadith teaches us to pay taxes on our income and to use resources responsibly and efficiently so we can benefit from them in the long run. It also teaches us to be fair when it comes to taxation and not take more than what is due from people who work hard to earn their living through agriculture or other means.
