Sunan an-Nasai 2555 (Book 23, Hadith 121) #17166
The Importance of Timely Charity

SUMMARY: Charity should be given without delay as it may not be accepted when needed.

It was narrated that Harithah said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Give charity, for there will come a time when a man will walk about with his charity, and the one to whom he wants to give it will say: If you had brought it yesterday I would have accepted it, but today (I have no need of it)".

QUICK LESSONS:
Give charity without delay
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of giving charity in a timely manner. It is narrated by Harithah that the Prophet Muhammad said, “Give charity, for there will come a time when a man will walk about with his charity, and the one to whom he wants to give it will say: If you had brought it yesterday I would have accepted it, but today (I have no need of it).” This hadith teaches us that we should not delay in giving charity as people may not accept our donations if they are no longer needed. We must act quickly and generously if we want to help those in need. Furthermore, this hadith also serves as an important reminder that our actions can have consequences; if we do not act quickly enough or are too slow to help others, then our efforts may be wasted. Therefore, this hadith encourages us to always think ahead and take action before it is too late.
