Staying True to Faith

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of staying true to one's faith and not following rulers who are unjust.

It was narrated that Kab bin Ujrah said: "The Messenger of Allah came out to us and we were nine, fie and four, some 'Arabs and some non- 'Arabs. He said: 'Listen. Have you heard that after me there will be rulers, whoever enters upon them and believes their lies and help them in their wrongdoing is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the Cistern? Whoever does not enter upon them or believe their lies or help them in their wrongdoing is of me and I am of him, and he will come to me at the Cistern"'.

QUICK LESSONS:
Stay true to your faith; strive for righteousness and justice; never compromise your beliefs; stand up against injustice even if it means going against those in power or authority

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of staying true to one's faith and not following rulers who are unjust. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was speaking to a group of nine people - four Arabs and five non-Arabs - when he said that whoever follows an unjust ruler will not be with him in the afterlife. He also said that those who do not follow such rulers will be with him in the afterlife. This hadith teaches us that it is important for us to stay true to our beliefs even if it means going against those in power or authority. We should always strive for righteousness and justice even if it means standing up against those in power or authority. It also reminds us that we should never compromise our beliefs just because someone else tells us otherwise or because we think it might benefit us in some way. In this way, we can ensure that we remain on the path of righteousness and justice throughout our lives.
