Sunan an-Nasai 5357 (Book 48, Hadith 318) #19889
Imitating Allah's Creation is Punishable

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) warned against imitating the creation of Allah, as it will lead to severe punishment on the Day of Resurrection.

It was narrated that 'Aishah, the wife of the Prophet SAW, said: "The Messenger of Allah SAW entered upon me, and I had put up a curtain on which there were images. When he saw it, his face changed color, then he tore it down with his hand and said: 'The people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be those who try to imitate the creation of Allah'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect for God's creations ; obey ; understand our limitations as humans ; avoid imitation and copying God's creations .

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, narrated by 'Aishah, wife of Prophet Muhammad SAW, we learn that it is forbidden to imitate Allah's creation. This means that we should not try to copy or replicate what Allah has created in any way. For example, if someone tries to make a sculpture or painting that looks like a human being or an animal they are imitating Allah's creation and this is forbidden in Islam. On the Day of Judgment those who have done this will be severely punished for their actions. We should remember that only Allah can create and no one else has this power so we must not try to imitate Him in any way.
