The Punishment of Image Makers

SUMMARY: On the Day of Resurrection, those who make images will be punished and asked to bring their creations to life.

It was narrated from 'Aishah, the wife of the Prophet SAW, that: The Messenger of Allah SAW said: "The makers of these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: 'Bring to life that which you have created'."
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how people who create images will be punished on the Day of Judgement. The Prophet Muhammad [SAW] said that on that day, these image makers will be asked to bring their creations to life. This means that they will have to prove that they can do what only Allah can do - create something from nothing. This hadith teaches us not to try and imitate Allah's power by creating things like statues or idols because it is wrong and disrespectful. It also reminds us that we should always remember Allah's greatness and power over all things in this world and in the hereafter.
