Asking for Work is Not Appreciated

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) did not appoint anyone who asked for a job.

It was narrated that Abu Musa said: "Some people from among the Ash'aris came to me and said: 'Go with us to the Messenger of Allah SAW, for we have something to ask him'. So I went with them, and they said: 'O Messenger of Allah, use us to do your work'." Abu Musa said: "I apologized for what they said, and I told him that I did not know what they were going to ask. He believed me and excused me, and said: 'We do not appoint for our work anyone who asks for that'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of not asking for work or a job. It was narrated by Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari, who said that some people from his tribe came to him and asked him to go with them to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ so they could ask him something. Abu Musa apologized and said he didn't know what they were going to ask, and the Prophet ﷺ believed him and excused him, saying that he would not appoint anyone who asked for a job. This hadith teaches us that it is important to be humble when asking for something, as it shows respect towards those in authority. It also teaches us that we should never expect anything in return when doing good deeds or helping others out; instead we should do it out of kindness and sincerity without expecting anything in return.
