Sunan an-Nasai 5396 (Book 49, Hadith 18) #19928
Performing Hajj on Behalf of an Elderly Parent

SUMMARY: A man asked the Prophet if he could perform Hajj on behalf of his elderly father, to which the Prophet replied that it would be equivalent to paying off a debt.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that: A man came to the Prophet SAW and said: "My father is an old man, can I perform Hajj on his behalf?" He said: "Yes. Don't you think that if he owed a debt and you paid it off, that would suffice him?"
