Sunan an-Nasai 5427 (Book 49, Hadith 49) #19959
Believing in Allah over Doubting One's Senses

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) witnessing a man stealing and instead of immediately accusing him, he chose to believe in Allah and disbelieve his eyes.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah SAW said: 'Isa bin Mariam, peace be upon him, saw a man stealing, and said to him: Are you stealing? He said: No, by Allah besides Whom there is no other God! 'Isa, peace be upon him, said: I believe in Allah and I disbelieve my eyes'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith in God before relying on your own judgement or perception when it comes to making decisions or forming opinions about others .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of believing in Allah over doubting one's senses. The Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) saw a man stealing, yet instead of immediately accusing him, he chose to trust in Allah and disbelieve his eyes. This teaches us that we should always have faith in God and not rely solely on our own perception or judgement when it comes to making decisions or forming opinions about others. We should always strive to look for the best in people and give them the benefit of the doubt before jumping to conclusions based on what we think we see with our own eyes.
