Reciting Al-Mu'awwidhatain During Salah Al-Ghadah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recited Al-Mu'awwidhatain when leading the people in Salah Al-Ghadah.

It was narrated from 'Uqbah bin 'Amir that : He asked the Messenger of Allah SAW about Al-Mu'awwidhatain'.Uqbah said: "The Messenger of Allah SAW recited them when he led us in Salah Al-Ghadah (As-Subh)".
أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ حِزَامٍ التِّرْمِذِيُّ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ ‏.‏ قَالَ عُقْبَةُ فَأَمَّنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ بِهِمَا فِي صَلاَةِ الْغَدَاةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of reciting Al-Mu'awwidhatain during Salatul Ghudu, which is also known as Subh prayer. This prayer is usually performed in the morning and it is one of the five daily prayers that Muslims are obligated to perform. In this hadith, Uqbah bin Amir asked the Prophet about these two surahs and he was told that they were to be recited during this particular prayer. The two surahs are Surat al Falaq and Surat an Nas, which are both chapters from the Quran. These two surahs are known for their protective qualities and they can be used to protect oneself from any harm or evil intentions of others. By reciting them during this particular prayer, Muslims can gain protection from Allah Almighty and seek His blessings for a successful day ahead.
