Supplication for Protection from Evil

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) often supplicated to Allah for protection from the evil of his own actions and the evil of what he had not yet done.

Ibn Yasaf said: "I asked 'Aishah, what was the supplication that the Prophet SAW said the most? She said: 'The supplication that he said the most was: Allahumma, inni a'udhu bika min sharri ma 'amiltu wa min sharri ma lam a'mal ba'd (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the evil of what I have done, and from the evil of what I have not done yet)'"

QUICK LESSONS:
Make frequent supplications to seek refuge with God from any potential wrongdoings one may commit in their life .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was known to be a man of great faith and devotion to Allah. He often supplicated to Allah, asking for His protection from the evil of his own actions and the evil of what he had not yet done. This is an important lesson in piety, as it shows that even someone as righteous as the Prophet Muhammad was conscious of his own potential wrongdoings and sought refuge in Allah's mercy. It also serves as a reminder that we should always strive to do good deeds, but if we make mistakes or fall short, we should seek forgiveness through prayer and repentance. Additionally, this hadith teaches us that no matter how pious or devoted one may be, they must still remain humble before God and ask for His protection against any potential wrongdoings they may commit in their lives.
