SUMMARY: Washing oneself with water is a way to purify oneself from any kind of impurity.

Jubair b. Mut’im reported : People made a mention of washing because of sexual defilement before the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) said: I pour (water) on my head three times. And he made a sign with both his hands.

QUICK LESSONS:
Wash yourself with water for purifying yourself from any kind of impurity; Take care of your body; Strive for spiritual purity through prayer, fasting etc.; Follow the teachings given by Prophet Muhammad(PBUH).

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Jubair b. Mut’im speaks about the importance of washing oneself with water as a form of purification from any kind of impurity, physical or spiritual. This was mentioned to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and he responded by saying that he pours water on his head three times and made a sign with both his hands. This shows us that washing ourselves is an important part of our faith and it helps us stay clean, both physically and spiritually. It also teaches us to take care of our bodies in order to stay healthy and pure in front of Allah Almighty.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also taught us that we should not only focus on physical cleanliness but also strive for spiritual purity through prayer, fasting, charity, etc., which will help us become closer to Allah Almighty and gain His mercy in this life as well as the hereafter.
