Remember what you do so that you can perform them correctly according to Islamic teachings; Perform ablutions before engaging in any religious activities such as prayer or reciting Quran; Be mindful in your actions; Maintain purity through abluions .

This hadith explains how the beloved Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ performed ablution for purification after sexual defilement. It is narrated by Shu'bah that when Ibn 'Abbas took a bath because of sexual defilement he poured water over his left hand with his right hand seven times and then asked Shu'bah how many times he had poured water as he forgot. When Shu'bah said that he did not know, Ibn 'Abbas said "may you miss your mother! What prevented you from remembering it?". He then performed ablution as he did for prayer and poured water over his skin and said "this is how the Messenger of Allah purified himself". This hadith teaches us to be mindful in our actions and to remember what we do so that we can perform them correctly according to Islamic teachings. It also shows us the importance of purifying ourselves through ablutions in order to be spiritually clean before engaging in any religious activities such as prayer or reciting Quran.
