Taking a Bath with Adhesive Substance

SUMMARY: It is permissible to take a bath while wearing an adhesive substance on the head, whether during Hajj or not.

'Aishah said: we took a bath while having an adhesive substance over us (our head) in both states, namely, when wearing a robe for Hajj (ihram) and when wearing ordinary clothes (not meant for Hajj).
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، - رضى الله عنها - قَالَتْ كُنَّا نَغْتَسِلُ وَعَلَيْنَا الضِّمَادُ وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ مُحِلاَّتٌ وَمُحْرِمَاتٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrated by 'Aishah explains that it is permissible to take a bath while wearing an adhesive substance on the head. This applies both when performing the rituals of Hajj and when wearing ordinary clothes. The adhesive substance could be anything from oil to henna and other substances used for beautification purposes. This hadith teaches us that we should not neglect our hygiene even if we are in a state of ritual purity such as during Hajj or Umrah. We should also strive to maintain our physical appearance and beauty even if we are in such states of ritual purity.
