Supplicating to Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ raised his hands and wiped his face when making supplication to Allah.

Narrated Yazid ibn Sa'id al-Kindi: When the Prophet made supplication (to Allah) he would raise his hands and wipe his face with his hands.
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ هَاشِمِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ كَانَ إِذَا دَعَا فَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ بِيَدَيْهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ made supplications to Allah, he would raise his hands and wipe his face with them. This is a sign of humility and respect when speaking to the Almighty. It is also a reminder that we should be mindful of our actions and words when speaking to Him. We should always strive for sincerity in our prayers as it is one of the most important aspects of worshiping Allah. Furthermore, this hadith teaches us that we should be humble in all our dealings with others as well as with God.
