Remembering the Prophet in Supplication

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ gave Umar ibn al-Khattab permission to perform umrah and asked him to remember him in his supplication.

Narrated Umar ibn al-Khattab: I sought permission of the Prophet to perform umrah. He gave me permission and said: My younger brother, do not forget me in your supplication. He (Umar) said: He told me a word that pleased me so much so that I would not have been pleased if I were given the whole world. The narrator Shu'bah said: I then met Asim at Medina. He narrated to me this tradition and reported the wordings: "My younger brother, share me in your supplication".

QUICK LESSONS:
Remembering Allah SWT and His Messenger Muhammad(ﷺ)in our du'as/dhikrs .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of remembering the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in our supplications. Umar ibn al-Khattab sought permission from the Prophet ﷺ to perform umrah, and he was given permission. The Prophet ﷺ then asked Umar to remember him in his supplications, which pleased Umar so much that he would not have been pleased if he were given the whole world. Asim later narrated this tradition with slightly different wording, saying that the Prophet ﷺ asked for his share of supplications instead of being remembered in them. This hadith teaches us how important it is for us to remember our beloved prophet Muhammad ﷺ when we make du'a or dhikr, as it pleases Allah SWT immensely when we do so.
