Seek repentance from God sincerely with faith in His mercy & justice; Utter salutation at the end of prayer; Ask for forgiveness openly & secretly; Follow God's commands obediently .

This hadith is about the importance of seeking forgiveness from Allah. It was narrated by Ali b. Abi Talib that when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ finished his prayer, he would say a special dua asking for forgiveness from Allah for all of his sins, both known and unknown. He asked for forgiveness not only for what he did openly but also what he kept secret or did excessively. This shows us how important it is to seek repentance from our Lord in order to be forgiven of our wrongdoings and be closer to Him. We should also remember that only He can forgive us as He is the Advancer who can delay punishment if He wills or forgive us if we sincerely repent to Him with a sincere heart full of faith in His mercy and justice.
