Supplicating and Asking for Forgiveness Three Times

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad liked to supplicate and ask for forgiveness three times.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud: The Messenger of Allah liked to supplicate three times and to ask pardon (of Allah) three times.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَانَ يُعْجِبُهُ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ ثَلاَثًا وَيَسْتَغْفِرَ ثَلاَثًا
