Seeking Refuge in Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ used to seek refuge in Allah from poverty, lack and abasement, and from causing or suffering wrong.

Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet used to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from poverty", lack and abasement, and I seek refuge in Thee lest I cause or suffer wrong".
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ كَانَ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ وَالْقِلَّةِ وَالذِّلَّةِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَنْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ

This hadith is about the importance of seeking refuge in Allah from poverty, lack and abasement, as well as from causing or suffering wrong. It is narrated by AbuHurayrah that the Prophet Muhammad used to say a prayer asking for protection from these things. This hadith teaches us that we should always turn to Allah for help when we are faced with difficult situations. We should also strive to avoid doing anything wrong or being taken advantage of by others. By doing this, we can ensure that our lives remain free of hardship and injustice.
