Seeking Refuge From Diseases

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ used to seek refuge from Allah from certain diseases.

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet used to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from leprosy, madness, elephantiasis, and evil diseases".
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ كَانَ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبَرَصِ وَالْجُنُونِ وَالْجُذَامِ وَمِنْ سَيِّئِ الأَسْقَامِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Anas ibn Malik tells us that the Prophet Muhammad used to seek refuge in Allah from certain diseases such as leprosy, madness, elephantiasis and other evil diseases. This hadith teaches us that we should always turn to Allah for help and protection in times of need. It also shows us the importance of seeking refuge in Allah from all kinds of harm and danger, including physical illnesses. We should remember that no matter how difficult our situation may be, we can always rely on Allah for help and guidance.
