Perform religious pilgrimages such as an ‘Umra

This hadith is about the number of times the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, performed the pilgrimage known as an ‘Umrah. An ‘Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca that Muslims can perform at any time of year. According to this hadith, Ibn 'Umar was asked how many times the Prophet Muhammad performed an ‘Umrah and he said twice. However, Aishah said that Ibn 'Umar knew that the Prophet Muhammad actually performed three ‘Umras in addition to one he combined with his Farewell Pilgrimage. This hadith teaches us about the importance of performing religious pilgrimages such as an ‘Umra and encourages us to follow in our beloved prophet’s footsteps by doing so ourselves.
