Praising Allah for Food and Drink

Narrated AbuAyyub al-Ansari: When the Messenger of Allah ate or drank, he said: "Praise be to Allah Who has given food and drink and made it easy to swallow, and provided an exit for it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be thankful to Allah for His blessings of food and drink; pray whenever you eat or drink something; appreciate God's generosity in providing sustenance every day.

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us to be grateful to Allah for the blessings of food and drink. He would say a prayer of gratitude whenever he ate or drank something. This hadith reminds us that we should always be thankful to Allah for the sustenance He provides us with. We should also remember that everything we consume must eventually come out of our bodies in some way or another; this is also a blessing from God that we should appreciate. By being mindful of these things, we can show our appreciation towards God's generosity in providing us with sustenance every day.
