QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for balance and moderation in our words and actions when praising others.
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the dangers of excessive praise. It was narrated by Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari, who reported that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ heard someone praising another person and exaggerating in his praise. The Prophet ﷺ then said that this person had ruined or cut the man's back by praising him so much. This means that too much praise can be damaging to a person, as it may give them an unrealistic view of themselves and lead to arrogance or pride. It is important for us to remember this lesson when we are praising others, as we should always strive for balance and moderation in our words and actions.
