EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Ali, speaks about the significance of the Day of Sacrifice during Hajj. The Day of Sacrifice is one of the most important days in Islam and it is also known as Al-Hajj Al-Akbar or ‘the Greater Pilgrimage’. On this day, Muslims slaughter an animal such as a sheep or a goat to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail for Allah. This act symbolizes obedience and submission to Allah’s will and serves as a reminder that all things belong to Him alone. It also teaches us that we should be willing to give up anything for our faith if necessary. Furthermore, it encourages us to be generous with our wealth by donating some meat from our sacrificed animal to those who are less fortunate than us.
