Sahih al-Bukhari 2786 (Book 56, Hadith 5) #2665
Striving for Allah's Cause

SUMMARY: A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property is the best among people, followed by a believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief.

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri: Somebody asked, "O Allah's Messenger ! Who is the best among the people?" Allah's Messenger replied "A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property". They asked, "Who is next?" He replied, "A believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about striving for Allah's cause as being the best among people. It encourages believers to strive their utmost with their lives and properties in order to please Allah. The second best is a believer who stays away from society, worshipping Allah and leaving people secure from any harm or mischief he may cause. This hadith teaches us that we should strive our utmost to please God through our actions, words, thoughts, and deeds while also being mindful of how our actions can affect others around us. We should be careful not to cause any harm or mischief towards others while striving for God’s pleasure.
