Passing Over and Averting Based on Deeds

SUMMARY: The hadith is about how people will pass over a certain situation and their deeds will determine whether they avert it or not.

Narrated Shu'bah: from As-Suddi from Murrah: "'Abdullah said: 'There is not one of you but will pass over it (19:71) - They pass over it, then they avert it based upon their deeds'."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍِ ‏:‏ ‏(‏وإنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلاَّ وَارِدُهَا ‏)‏ قَالَ يَرِدُونَهَا ثُمَّ يَصْدُرُونَ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ ‏.‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، بِمِثْلِهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قُلْتُ لِشُعْبَةَ إِنَّ إِسْرَائِيلَ حَدَّثَنِي عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ‏.‏ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنَ السُّدِّيِّ مَرْفُوعًا وَلَكِنِّي عَمْدًا أَدَعُهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith talks about the importance of our deeds in life. It states that everyone must pass through a certain situation, however, whether we are able to avert it or not depends on our deeds. Our actions in life have consequences and this hadith serves as a reminder for us to be mindful of our actions so that we can avoid any negative outcomes. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was known for his good character and he taught us to always strive for righteousness in all aspects of life. He also reminded us that Allah SWT is All-Knowing and He knows what lies within the hearts of His servants, so we should always strive to do good deeds even if no one else sees them because Allah SWT sees everything.
