Sahih al-Bukhari 3229 (Book 59, Hadith 40) #3087
Waiting for Prayer is Praying

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught that as long as one is waiting for prayer, they are considered to be praying and the angels will ask Allah to forgive them.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "As long as any-one of you is waiting for the prayer, he is considered to be praying actually, and the angels say, 'O Allah! Be merciful to him and forgive him', (and go on saying so) unless he leaves his place of praying or passes wind (ie breaks his ablution).

QUICK LESSONS:
Wait patiently before starting your prayers so your heart is in the right place before beginning them.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that even when we are waiting for prayer, we can still be considered to be praying. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that while we wait for prayer, the angels will ask Allah to forgive us. This shows us how important it is to have patience and wait patiently before starting our prayers. It also shows us how merciful Allah is and how He forgives those who seek His forgiveness. We should always remember this lesson when we are about to start our prayers so that we can make sure that our hearts are in the right place before beginning them.
