Imitating the Opposite Gender

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad cursed those who imitate the opposite gender.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah cursed women who imitate men and men who imitate women.
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ لَعَنَ الْمَرْأَةَ تَتَشَبَّهُ بِالرِّجَالِ وَالرَّجُلَ يَتَشَبَّهُ بِالنِّسَاءِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad taught us that it is wrong to imitate the opposite gender. This means that men should not act like women and women should not act like men. He also said that those who do this will be cursed by Allah, which means they will be punished in some way for their actions. We must remember to respect our own gender and not try to be someone we are not.
