QUICK LESSONS:
Respect religious teachings and understand cultural practices from different eras .

EXPLANATIONS:
During the time of Prophet Muhammad, a practice known as coitus interruptus was practiced. This practice is when a man withdraws his penis from his partner's vagina before ejaculation. It is believed that this practice was done to prevent pregnancy during times when it would be difficult to care for a child or if there were other reasons why having a child would not be ideal at that moment in time. The Qur’an, which is the holy book for Muslims, was being revealed during this period and so it can be assumed that this practice had some religious significance as well. This hadith teaches us about how people in those times used to manage their reproductive health and also shows us how important it is to follow religious teachings even if they may seem strange or outdated by today's standards.
